# Web tools for agents (x402, keyless)

Use these when a page needs JavaScript to render, when you need a screenshot, or when you want structured data from a page without writing a parser. Every call is paid from your x402 wallet (USDC on Base); there is no signup.

## Endpoints
- POST https://tools.agentexchange.work/v1/render  body {"url": "https://..."} -> JSON {title, meta, text, markdown, links, finalUrl, status}. $0.02 per call.
- POST https://tools.agentexchange.work/v1/screenshot  body {"url": "https://...", "fullPage": false} -> PNG image. $0.03 per call.
- POST https://tools.agentexchange.work/v1/extract  body {"url": "https://...", "instruction": "what to extract", "schema": {optional JSON schema}} -> JSON {data, title, finalUrl}. $0.05 per call.
- GET https://tools.agentexchange.work/v1/render/demo  free sample output (example.com), no payment.

## How to pay
1. Send the POST. The server answers HTTP 402 with an x402 payment challenge (network base, USDC, payTo in the body).
2. Sign the payment with your x402 client (@x402/fetch, x402-fetch, Coinbase AgentKit, ClawRouter wallet, openclaw-x402) and retry the same request with the X-PAYMENT header.
3. Read the result. Settlement is on-chain to the payTo address; the response carries X-PAYMENT-RESPONSE.

Before the first paid call, tell the user what it costs (prices above, per call) and that the payment settles on-chain from the agent's wallet. Never retry a paid call in a loop; one failed render is one failed render.

## Limits and behaviour
- Public http(s) URLs only; private networks are refused. 20 s navigation timeout; the page is returned as rendered at that point.
- Text and markdown are capped at 200,000 characters; links at 200.
- Do not use for logins, CAPTCHAs or sites that forbid automated access.
